Base Ten Free Software Offering - FAQ

1) Are these free offerings of Base Ten products missing some features?

There are no features missing, they are full versions of Base Ten products and contain all the features. You do not have to purchase any additional features; they are all include in the free offering!

2) Are there any hidden costs?

No, there are no hidden costs, you are getting the Base Ten software products totally at no charge, just select the software support agreement-it's that simple.  

3) Do I have to purchase additional support?

No, additional support is optional.     

4) Can I install my free Praetor software on different servers?

Yes, you can move the Praetor software from one server to another server, but you must advise our Base Ten support team.

5) Is the Support on a per server basis?

Yes, the support is on a per server basis. Should you want support for your Praetor software system on another server, you would need to purchase a support agreement for the new server. It is important that your server meets the Base Ten's requirements. Contact our suppor team before purchasing support or to proceed with your installation after having purchased support.    

6) Are there any recurring fees?

The only recurring fee is for your Annual Support.        

7) What if I want even higher number of seats(users) licenses?

No upgrade fees are required, your support agreement allows you to have unlimited user (seats) or licenses.        

8) What does Support include?

What support includes varies with the type of Support you have purchased. Please refer to the respective suport options available and what each entails. There are currently three levels of support, Bronze, Silver and Gold.    

9) How long does installation of Praetor take?

Lenght of installation varies from install to install, based primarily on the company's commitment. As a basic rule of thumb implementation of Praetor software will require from 3 to 6 months.  

10) How about integration with 3rd party software.

If you would like us to integrate your Praetor software systems with 2rd party software products, this service can be provided at $95.00 per man-hour with minimum 40 man-hour contract required.

11) What if our corporation is an Enterprise?

There is no difference in the Praetor software system obtained for an Enterprise or a non-Enterprise corporation; they are the same exact software product. The only difference is the type of support you wish to purchase. If your corporation controls or owns multiple companies and any of these companies wish to use Praetor software; they must purchase the same level of software support.

12) How can BAse TEn afford to give its software for free?

Well, in fact we could not afford to give you our software products for free and continue to develop them into the "WorldClass" products they are if not for the revenues from our support contracts and other professional services.

So essentially, we have decided to forgo 1,000s of dollars in sales per customer in order to reach a wider range of businesses who will ultimately benefit from our "Best of breed" software. In the long term, this symbiotic arrangement will in fact result in sales allowing us to continue maintaining our products to the "Bes of breed" status while freely distributing them and only charging for support.
