Mr. Byron R. Ball has worked as the principal architect of the system since
its conception. He has harnessed his variety of past experiences such as systems
administrator and MIS director of process oriented manufacturing facilities with
his collegiate accounting background and later related work experience in the formation
of Praetor. Before co-founding Base Ten, he worked as the MIS director of a steel
wire mill. In that time, he saw implementation difficulties with several of the
current software packages supposedly "designed for" the industry. Discouraged, he
designed a comprehensive and easy-to-use system himself with limited budget and
manpower. He realized that a major need was being left unfulfilled in the industry,
and that the technology being born at that time could be used to create an even
more robust and powerful system. With this vision, he co-founded Base Ten and began
work on Praetor.
